Nigerian delegation visits IMSO

The Director General of IMSO – Captain Moin Ahmed, welcomed the Nigerian delegation, to IMSO, today. The delegation was led by the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) – Dr. Dakuku Peterside, who was accompaniedinter alia by the Alternate Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the IMO – Mr Dikko Bala, and the Technical Adviser at the Nigeria High Commission – Mr Anas Suleiman.

Dr Peterside had stated elsewhere that “collaboration with various stakeholders across the globe is fundamental to unlocking the maritime opportunities in Nigeria.” This is in similar spirit to which the Director General of IMSO hosts these kind of visits, as he considers them to be useful forums for discussing issues of mutual co-operation between a Member State and IMSO.

As is now practically routine, a tour of the Inmarsat Network Operations Centre (NOC), was an integral part of the visit. It was very well received by the delegation.

The CEO of NIMASA, stated that he “was pleased to have a solid relationship with this Organisation, for the enhancement of safety and communications, specifically in transportation and maritime industry”.
