Cambodian Under Secretary of State Visits IMSO

The Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Works and Transport of Cambodia, Mr Leng Thun Yutrea, paid a courtesy visit today on 14 June 2017 to the IMSO Director General, Captain Moin Ahmed at the IMSO Headquarters. Discussions included matters of common interest in the field of satellite communications, Cambodia’s IMSO membership and LRIT re-integration.

The opportunity was taken to visit Inmarsat’s satellite control centre to gain in-depth understanding of networks management and control. Mr Yutrea expressed keen interest towards the provisions of GMDSS and LRIT services which fall under his portfolio. He will work alongside his Administration body to ensure that Cambodia officially becomes a member of IMSO. Captain Ahmed thanked him for the support given by the Cambodian Maritime Administration towards the work of IMSO and his interest in the evolution of mobile satellite communications to order to ensure efficiency of transportation, maritime safety and security services.

Both the Cambodian Undersecretary of State and IMSO Director General have looked forward to work closely together and were very enthusiastic about the continued cooperation between Cambodia and IMSO and the vital discussions held to promote such collaboration.

The Undersecretary of State was impressed by the perspectives of IMSO in serving matters of maritime safety and congratulated the Director General for his determinations to take IMSO at the next stage of commitment and excellence.
