16th Tripartite Meeting between EUTELSAT IGO, IMSO and ITSO
16th Tripartite Meeting between EUTELSAT IGO, IMSO and ITSO
The Sixteenth Tripartite Meeting between the Heads of the three intergovernmental satellite organisations took place today at EUTELSAT IGO Headquarters in Paris. Hosted by Mr Piotr Dmochowski-Lipski, Executive Secretary of EUTELSAT IGO, the meeting was attended by Mr Laurent Parenté, Director General of IMSO, and by Dr Renata Brazil-David, Director General of ITSO, who participated remotely.
The Heads of the three organisations reviewed their respective developments since their last encounter in November 2024 in Washington DC, and exchanged views on the rapidly evolving satellite telecommunications sector, shaped by the rise of LEO constellations, the development of multi-orbit solutions and the growing use of AI in space.
Discussions underlined that, although the three intergovernmental organisations share common historical background and interests, they remain institutionally distinct in terms of their missions, funding and the institutional levers at their disposal to ensure compliance with the international treaties that underpin their mandates. Nevertheless, the Heads agreed that important synergies persist, especially in safeguarding the public interest of satellite connectivity for their Member States and committed to continuing to explore areas of cooperation to support the sustainable growth of satellite technology.
The next Tripartite Meeting will take place in London at the invitation of IMSO during the second half of 2026.
