50th session of the IMSO Advisory Committee

The fiftieth session of the IMSO Advisory Committee was held from 15 to 18 July 2024 in London at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), where the Headquarters of the Organization is located.

The session featured significant agenda items focused on enhancing global maritime safety and security through satellite communication systems. The extensive agenda of the meeting included a comprehensive review and discussion on a variety of critical topics, including the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS), Long Range Identification and Tracking of Ships (LRIT), financial matters and strategic planning for future initiatives.

Under the skilful management of the Chair, Dr. Christos Atalianis of Cyprus, the Committee’s deliberations were considered in an effective and efficient manner.
