IMSO at the Georgia International Maritime Forum 2026

IMSO Director General Laurent Parenté took part in the Georgia International Maritime Forum 2026 in Batumi, joining the panel on “International Cooperation in Maritime Governance”.

Under the theme “Where Seas Meet Corridors”, the Forum brought together ministers, government officials, international organizations, maritime authorities, industry representatives and academics. The discussions reflected Georgia’s growing role along the Middle Corridor and the country’s investment in its ports, maritime infrastructure and regional connectivity.

During the panel, participants exchanged views on how international maritime organizations need to adapt as the sector evolves, while working more closely together to turn global standards into effective action.
