IMSO achieves ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001 certification
IMSO achieves ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001 certification
IMSO is pleased to announce that the Organization has been officially certified to ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) and ISO/IEC 27001 (Information Security Management Systems).
This milestone follows careful preparatory work and the streamlining of internal processes, undertaken to reinforce quality assurance, information-security governance across the Directorate. The initiative was launched under the Director General’s vision to modernise IMSO’s internal management framework and ensure that the Organisation operates in line with internationally recognised standards.
Both certifications were awarded with no nonconformities raised ✔️, confirming the effectiveness and maturity of the systems now established.
Beyond internal improvements, this achievement also aims to strengthen the confidence of IMSO’s Parties, IMO Member States and IMSO stakeholders, by demonstrating that the Organisation applies rigorous and professionally managed processes in the conduct of its sensitive mandate.
Established by the International Maritime Organization in 1976, with its mandate significantly reshaped in 1999, IMSO continues to evolve as an intergovernmental organisation entrusted with critical global maritime safety oversight responsibilities. The Directorate remains committed to maintaining this high level of professionalism and supporting the Organisation’s ongoing transformation.
