Iridium Contingency Exercise

Iridium successfully demonstrated its capability to restore the Safety Voice, Safety Messaging, and SafetyCast services in case of a catastrophic failure in its primary Gateway in Tempe, United States of America. Iridium Safety Voice, Safety Messaging, and SafetyCast have been recognized by the International Maritime Organization as part of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS). Mr. Laurent Parenté (Director General), Mr. Halil Keskin (Head of Operational Services), and Mr. Philip Lane (Technical Officer) participated in the contingency exercise on Tuesday, 25 June 2024, which was the second of four planned exercises this year.
