IMSO is pleased to announce that a special training session to familiarise Search and Rescue Operators from across the world with the functions and use of the Long Range Identification and Tracking system (LRIT) will be held virtually on the 27th February 2024.

LRIT offers a vital service for Search and Rescue Operators as it provides a global identification and tracking of ships for the purposes of safety and marine environment protection.  The objective of the training is to enable Search and Rescue Operators worldwide to effectively utilise the LRIT system to facilitate their essential work in saving lives at sea.

This training session is being organised in collaboration with the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) and Brazilian Maritime Operations and Protection of the Blue Amazon Command (COMPAAz).

The event will be held between 11am and 2pm (UK time) on the 27th February 2024.  Event details including the online registration can be accessed at https://imso.org/lrit-training.
